Freedom...

Como diz a canção... "só há liberdade a sério quando houver liberdade de mudar e de decidir...", num processo contínuo, chamado de democracia, e pelo qual todos temos de saber zelar...
Iniciámo-lo há 48 anos atrás, no nosso país... para não mais acabar... e para diariamente, cada vez mais, o conseguirmos aperfeiçoar.

Celebramos com alegria, conscientes de como é preciosa a liberdade... no caso português, conquistada sem derramamento de uma gota de sangue. Reconhecemos o quanto está ausente ainda em tantos pontos do globo... e do quanto se apresenta, aparente e tão condicionada, até mesmo em alguns países que se apelidam de libertadores...

As the song says... "there is only real freedom when there is freedom to change and to decide...", in a continuous process, called democracy, and in which we all have to know how to take care of...
We started it 48 years ago, in our country... not to end it anymore... and we continue to improve it daily, more and more.

We celebrate with joy, aware of how precious freedom is... in the Portuguese case, conquered without the shedding of a drop of blood. We recognize how much it is still absent in so many parts of the globe... and how much it appears, apparent and so conditioned, even in some countries that call themselves liberators...

Alexander Search, is a musical project, based on the poetry of Fernando Pessoa, which was written in English during his stay in South Africa in his adolescence, and mostly signed by his heteronym Alexander Search.
The vocalist of this musical project... is the voice of the moment, here in Portugal... Salvador Sobral.

We always will have Paris... the city of liberty, equality and fraternity by conviction...

No attack will end, with such values... specially when these are regarded as the essence of a people, a country, or a nation...

April's colors

Hoje, dia em que aqui em Portugal, se comemora a Revolução de Abril que, há quarenta anos atrás, ditou o começo da democracia e da liberdade, no nosso país, deixo uma foto, com as cores que sempre ficarão ligadas a este acontecimento.

Infelizmente, há que fazer notar que, quarenta anos depois, a ditadura política parece ter sido substituída, aos poucos, por uma ditadura dos mercados financeiros.

E que quarenta anos depois, ainda que haja liberdade para falar, pensar, escolher e viver... muitos não terão a capacidade para verdadeiramente existir... e muitos outros para subsistir... devido ao funcionamento das leis dos mercados financeiros, no seu melhor... confrontando-se com o pagamento de elevados impostos, e o desaparecimento de inúmeros pequenos negócios...

E tudo em nome de um deficit... Às vezes penso, no que diria Keynes sobre o assunto?

Cores de Abril / April's Colors

Today is the day, here in Portugal, that marks the April's Revolution, which forty years ago, has dictated the beginning of democracy and freedom, in our country.
So, I leave here today, a photo with the colors that will always be related to this event.

Unfortunately, it must be noted that forty years later, the political dictatorship, seems to have been replaced gradually, by a dictatorship of the financial markets.
And that forty years years later, although there is freedom to speak, to think, to choose, and to live... many do not have the capacity to truly exist... and many others to survive... due to the laws of the financial markets, functioning at its best... confronting themselves with the payment of high taxes, and the disappearance of an untold number of small businesses...
And all in the name of a deficit... I wonder... what would say Keynes on the matter?
