Cerca de 80% do oxigénio que respiramos é produzido nos oceanos... e contudo, continua a não haver políticas concertadas, à escala global, para que se evite uma acentuada e cada vez mais acelerada perda de biodiversidade, e o colapso de ecossistemas marinhos...

Sabiam que, há 17 meses consecutivos, estão a ser batidos os máximos mensais de temperatura média global?...

As alterações climáticas estão aí... e a ocorrer a um ritmo bem mais rápido, do que se julgaria...

O nosso planeta, parece irremediavelmente destinado, a tornar-se num futuro não muito distante, num lugar quase tão inóspito e sem vida quanto o nosso satélite natural, e apesar de tudo... políticas ambientais... continuam a não ser prioridade máxima, na ordem do dia...

Did you know that for 17 consecutive months, the monthly maximum average global temperature is being hit?...
Climate change it is a reality... and it is occuring  at a much faster rhythm than one would think...
Our planet seems hopelessly destined to become, in a not too distant future, a place almost so inhospitable and lifeless, as our natural satellite, and however... environmental policies... continue not to be a top priority on the agenda of the most countries...

É curioso... mas provavelmente, saberemos mais sobre a superfície do planeta Marte... do que sobre as zonas mais profundas dos oceanos, do nosso próprio mundo...

Aqui fica mais uma imagem, de um pequeno hot-spot, cheio de biodiversidade, que podemos encontrar, numa pequena poça de maré, junto à costa ocidental portuguesa...

A acção das ondas, e as formações rochosas, protegem algumas espécies dos seus predadores...

It is curious... but probably we know more about the surface of Mars... than about the deepest parts of the oceans, of our own world...
Here it stays today, another image of a small hot-spot, full of biodiversity, that we can find in a small tide pool, on the portuguese west coast.
The wave action, and the rock formations, protects some species of its predators...

Hoje resolvi deixar por aqui, uma imagem da cidade de Odivelas, na qual, é sempre agradável constatar, o desenvolvimento de boas práticas, para a defesa do meio ambiente, procurando-se a integração de espaços verdes, junto das novas urbanizações, que vão emergindo, um pouco, por toda a cidade.

Esta, foi mais outra das nossas descobertas improváveis, na passada semana... uma estranha borboleta, de cores e padrões impensáveis, que nunca tínhamos visto antes...

Alguém conhece esta espécie de borboleta?
Para nós, que somos leigos na matéria... é realmente um objecto voador não identificado...

This was another one of our unlikely discoveries, last week... an odd butterfly with unthinkable colors and patterns, that we never had seen before...

Someone knows this species of butterfly?
For us, that we are non-specialists on the subject... it is really an unidentified flying object...

E dando por concluído o tema Flores, aqui no blogue, pelo menos por alguns dias, pois até eu já estou a ficar com alergia ao pólen...

Deixo por aqui, hoje, uma flor especial, para alguém que faz muita questão que lhe ofereçam uma flor só para si, e que me pareceu muito adequada... para juntar ao seu mar... ao seu céu... e ao seu mundo... muito seu... e muito próprio...

Como é evidente, essa flor só poderia ser da cor, de um mundo... muito particular.
