Pieces of another time...

Pedaços de um outro tempo... com outro ritmo de vida... e outros valores...

Assim considero este pormenor, que vos deixo hoje, na imagem abaixo, da fachada exterior, dos antigos Armazéns Grandella... a qual foi reabilitada, na sequência do grande incêndio no Chiado, em Agosto de 1988, que destruiu por completo, todo este espaço... actualmente integrado nos "Grandes Armazéns do Chiado"... projecto que remodelou, e modernizou o mesmo.
Contudo, o espírito de outrora, de toda esta área comercial, jamais foi recuperado... assim se provando que, por vezes, o que foi... não volta a ser!...

Devo ter passado por este edifício, centenas de vezes... antes de realmente, ter olhado com olhos de ver, para estes seus pormenores, numa imagem semelhante a esta, e que há algum tempo atrás, pude apreciar no admirável blogue do Zekarlos... Cenas Soltas... e, em que cada um dos seus formidáveis trabalhos, sempre me relembra, que o que faz uma grande foto... não é o que é fotografado... mas antes, a subtileza, e a qualidade, dos seus detalhes!...

Pedaços de um outro tempo... / Pieces of another time...

Pieces of another time... with another rhythm of life... and other values...
That's how I consider this detail, which I leave you today, in the image above, of the exterior facade of the old Grandella Warehouses... which was rehabilitated, following the great fire in Chiado, in August 1988, which completely destroyed all this space... currently integrated in the "Department Stores of Chiado"... a project that remodeled, and modernized these buildings.
However, the spirit of other times, in all this commercial area, has never been recovered... thus proving that sometimes... what was... can not be again!

I must have passed in front of this building hundreds of times... before I really, having looked at it... with eyes that see, and that finally noticed for these details, after having seen them, in an similar image to this one, which some time ago, I could appreciate in Zekarlos excellent photoblog called... Cenas Soltas... in which, and in each of his great shots, he always reminds me, that what makes a great image... it is not what is photographed... but the subtlety, and the quality, of the details!...

Tendo em conta, as anedóticas quotas de pesca de sardinhas, que a União Europeia pretende atribuir ao nosso país... absolutamente trágicas, para os pescadores portugueses, mas ideais para continuar a desmantelar a nossa frota pesqueira... parece-me que esta... a que mostro na imagem a seguir... será a única espécie de sardinhas, que iremos poder consumir, em Portugal, no próximo ano...

José Cardoso Pires, foi um dos maiores escritores portugueses, do Séc. XX, que retratou como ninguém, a sociedade portuguesa, no tempo da ditadura...
Viveu durante algum tempo, na Ericeira... conforme podem "ler", na minha foto seguinte... "Nesta casa viveu José Cardoso Pires, com os seus amigos, a sua escrita e a dignidade solitária de um dos maiores escritores do nosso tempo."

José Cardoso Pires, was one of the greatest portuguese writers of the 20th century, who portrayed the portuguese society, at the time of the dictatorship, as no one else...
He lived for some time in Ericeira... as you can "read" in my first photo above... "José Cardoso Pires lived in this house, with his friends, his writing and the solitary dignity of one of the greatest writers of our time."

In Ericeira, the Ouriço, is one of the oldest dance spaces, of our country... already on the way to its 57th Anniversary.
Here it is an image, of its irreverent facade, whose decorative themes are often renewed...
