Como sabem, o Pai Natal, dada a sua provecta idade, pertence a um grupo de risco... por isso, deixo apenas as renas a representá-lo por aqui, este ano, em tempo de pandemia, na foto a seguir.

Este Natal, não poderá ser como os demais. Habitualmente idealizado, pensando nos mais novos... deverá ser repensado e adaptado em função dos mais velhos, caso estejam por perto, nesta quadra.

Não devemos trocar beijos e abraços, com eles... mas nada impede que se troquem muitos sorrisos... a distância segura!...

Desde já, aqui ficam os nossos votos de Festas Felizes, para todos... com bom senso, responsabilidade, consciência... e muitos frasquinhos de álcool... em gel ou spray, sempre por perto... e algumas máscaras também, neste Natal, de contornos bem diferentes dos demais!...

Que o vosso maior presente, deste ano, seja conseguirem continuar a manter os vossos idosos, e os mais vulneráveis, presentes... muito para além deste Natal.

As you all know, Father Christmas, given his age, he belongs to a group at risk... so I just let the reindeer represent him here, this year, in a time of pandemic, in the photo above.

This Christmas, it cannot be like the others. Usually idealized, thinking of the younger ones... should be rethought and adapted to the older ones, if they are close by, in this Christmas Season...

We should not exchange kisses and hugs with them... but nothing prevents many smiles from being exchanged... at a safe distance!...

We leave here, our wishes of Happy Holidays for everyone... with common sense, responsibility, conscience... and many bottles of alcohol... in gel or spray, always close by... and some masks, too, in this Christmas so different from all the others!...

May your greatest gift this year, be continuing to keep your elderly ones present, as well as the most vulnerable, well beyond this Christmas.

Teremos pela frente, os 4 meses mais cruciais, das nossas vidas, por toda a Europa...

Quando um trevo de quatro folhas nasce no canteiro das rosas, achando que é um guarda sol... será algo mais ou menos assim, como o que mostro em seguida!... :-)

Nestes tempos atribulados que atravessamos... não contemos com a sorte... mas devemos e podemos fazer por tê-la... com bom senso e prudência, para não agravar ainda mais circunstâncias adversas...

O uso obrigatório de máscaras em espaços públicos, por 70 dias, foi ontem aprovado, no nosso país. Não contestemos uma medida, tão simples, que pode evitar o colapso dos serviços hospitalares com o excesso de casos de Covid...

Estarei ausente por alguns dias, aproveitando para tratar de vários assuntos pendentes... pois seguramente, a segunda vaga da pandemia, no nosso país, surgirá nas semanas mais próximas... tal como já está presentemente a ocorrer, em outros países europeus... e como as estatísticas por cá, começam lentamente a comprovar... pelo que por aqui, em meio citadino, mais vale antecipar soluções... para evitar outros problemas...

I will be absent for a few days, taking the opportunity to solve some pending matters... because surely, the second wave of the pandemic, in our country, will appear in the coming weeks... as it is currently occurring, in other European countries... and like the statistics here, in our country, they are slowly starting to show... so, in an urban environment, like this is, it is better to anticipate solutions... to avoid other problems...

E assim vai prosseguindo este Verão... estranho... atípico... abundante em novas realidades, recheado de outras preocupações e prioridades.

No meu caso, este ano... passar uns tempos no meu destino de Verão habitual, junto ao mar, estará fora de questão... quando há a saúde de mais alguém a preservar...

Mas quem puder usufruir de férias... aconselho, especialmente este ano, a irem para fora... cá dentro!...

Este, será mesmo o melhor ano, para descobrir ou redescobrir as maravilhas que o nosso país tem a oferecer... sem a habitual avalanche turística... sem confusões, filas intermináveis ou tensões...

Porque esperam, se este ano temos um pequeno paraíso, só para nós?

A different Summer...

And so it goes on this Summer... strange... atypical... abundant in new realities, filled with other concerns and priorities.

In my case, this year... spending time in my usual Summer destination by the sea will be out of the question... when there is someone else's health to preserve...

But anyone who can enjoy a vacation... I advise, especially this year, to go abroad... inside our country!...

This will really be the best year to discover or rediscover the wonders that our country has to offer... without the usual tourist avalanche... without confusion, endless waits or tensions...

Why wait, if this year we have a little paradise, just for us?

This is my first post, made through the new Blogger interface... so it served as a test, to the functionality of the new model.

A world to recover...

A pressão sobre os habitats naturais... seja através da desflorestação, seja pelo alargamento das zonas habitacionais, ou agrícolas... estará a abrir uma verdadeira Caixa de Pandora, em matéria de libertação de vírus desconhecidos.

Também o degelo das camadas polares, estará a devolver vírus ou bactérias de outras eras... ao nosso presente.

Definitivamente, muitos dos nossos hábitos consumistas, e a nossa consciência, sobre o meio ambiente, mudarão obrigatoriamente, nem que seja através de consequências... como as que experimentamos actualmente... e que num curtíssimo espaço de tempo... alteraram ou condicionaram, profundamente, a nossa forma de viver, a todos os níveis...

Um mundo a recuperar... / A world to recover...

"We cut the trees; we kill the animals or cage them and send them to markets. We disrupt ecosystems, and we shake viruses loose from their natural hosts, When that happens, they need a new host. Often, we are it." (DAVID QUAMMEN, writer, quoted by The Guardian).

The pressure on natural habitats... be it through deforestation or the expansion of residential or agricultural areas... will open a real Pandora's Box, in terms of the release of unknown viruses.

The melting of the polar layers will also be returning viruses or bacteria from other eras... to our present.

Definitely, many of our consumerist habits, and our conscience, about the environment, will necessarily change, even if it is through consequences... like the ones we currently experience... and that in a very short time, profoundly changed or conditioned, our way of living at all levels...

Tribute...

Vivemos numa fase particularmente difícil, para o mundo das artes... concertos cancelados... projectos cinematográficos, teatrais e televisivos adiados, ou profundamente alterados... festivais transferidos para o próximo ano...
O mundo das artes, sempre coloca os melhores à prova... num desafio de constante reinvenção...

No presente, nestes tempos de pandemia... experimentamos sentimentos de angústia,  ansiedade, e incerteza... contudo... estes estados de alma acompanham imensos artistas... toda uma vida... quer pelas dificuldades que sentem no seu percurso artístico, quer pelo desapontamento de não conseguirem ser valorizados ou reconhecidos... quer pelo desafio que representam certos projectos a que se propõem... no entanto... as maiores obras, pertencem aos que sempre criaram sob o peso dos seus fantasmas... eles mesmos... o combustível, a inspiração, e o meio que lhes possibilitou uma forma diferente, e única de sentirem o mundo... e de o mostrarem aos demais... nas obras que deixam...

Nos últimos anos, tive o privilégio de admirar alguém, aqui neste mundo da Net, extremamente talentoso, em diversas artes. Do desenho, à pintura... passando pelo universo da escultura e da fotografia... revelava-se igualmente também, um pensador atento, perspicaz e inconformado, em relação ao seu país e ao mundo...
Sentia-se a genialidade latente, em cada uma das suas publicações.
Robert Nicolaescu, do blogue... Robert N. - pointpen, foi mais uma vitima da doença do momento... que tem reclamado tantas vidas, pelo mundo inteiro... o Covid-19.
Foi um imenso privilégio, Robert, estes anos de preciosas partilhas e sempre tão enriquecedora interacção, neste universo tão especial, dos blogues...

We live in a particularly difficult phase, for the world of the arts... concerts canceled... cinematographic, theatrical and television projects postponed, or profoundly altered... festivals transferred to next year...

The world of the arts always puts the best to the test... in a challenge of constant reinvention...

In the present, in these pandemic times... we experience feelings of anguish, anxiety, and uncertainty... however... these states of mind accompany so many artists... a whole life... whether because of the difficulties that they feel along their artistic way, either because of the disappointment of not being able to be valued or recognized... or because of the challenge represented by certain projects that are proposed... however... the greatest works, belong to those who have always created under the weight of their inner ghosts... themselves... the fuel, the inspiration, and the path that enabled them to have a different and unique way of feeling the world... and showing it... in the works they leave...

In recent years, I have had the privilege of admiring someone, here in this world of the Net, extremely talented, in several arts. From drawing, to painting... passing through the universe of sculpture and photography... he also revealed himself to be an attentive, perceptive and unconformed thinker, in relation to his country and the world...
His latent genius was felt in each of his publications.
Robert Nicolaescu, from the blog... Robert N. - pointpen, was another victim of the disease of the moment... that has claimed so many lives, all over the world... the Covid-19.
It was an immense privilege, Robert, these years of precious sharing and always so enriching interaction, in this very special universe, of the blogs...
